I love sewing gadgets.

 Don't we all?
Any thing that gets us to a finished quilt
or project faster is always a good thing!

Here's what I also use the Binding Tool for:

Stack up you strips,
right side up on all of them

Trim ends with Binding Tool,
turn stack around and do the other end

Match up ends, right sides together,
sew with scant 1/4 inch seam

Iron open, fold in half, iron, roll up and
you're ready to sew it on your quilt!

It doesn't matter what width you cut your strips.
Just line it up along the bottom edge of the strips as pictured.
My binding turns out perfect.
There's so many tutorials out there to attach your binding so I won't go into that.

Don't throw out the little triangles you cut off, just turn them into half-square triangles,
eventually you'll have enough to make a little quiltie or mug rug.

P.S. Yikes! Two posts in one day!!

Yay, Happy Mail Day!

Good mail day for me!

My fat quarter bundle from randi
of Fresh Squeezed Fabrics came!
Lucy's Crab Shack...Love it!!
I won these in a drawing on her blog for her 4th Anniversary.
I'm going to use these in Jeni's
Half-square Triangle Block of the Month.
I'm starting late but I'll get caught up!

I joined in the Ratz Swap on Flickr.
This is what I received from my partner, the lovely Leanne:

 Pretty cool!!
She's from Australia!

This is what I sent to my partner Kris, she lives in Germany.

It was suppose to be a lily-pad shaped but it looks more like an apple, LOL!

Alright...

I tried to resist, but it didn't work.
It’s not like I need any new projects,
but I think this will be one great quilt.
Come on—Pat Sloan and Michele Foster!?! A no-brainer!

So, here are my fabrics:
 Riley Blake's Summer Song,
got these from The Sproutz Store.

So, I'm going to make TWO of these quilts!
Second one out of my all time favorite fabrics: 30's & 40's prints.
Raiding my stash for these.

And here are my first week's blocks!

DQS11 & more...

I finished one of the DQS11, the zigzag one.
I think it turned out pretty nice, machine quilted this one.
The Hope Valley one I'm hand quilting,
so almost finished with that one.
I'll have to decide which one, mail date is Tues. the 16th!
Wonder whose got my name!

It's 16" square, the front:

the back:

My sister, Debby, is taking a class at Lake County College,
so I made here a couple of zippered pouches.
I used Bits and Pieces tutorial.
One for her calculator and one for pens, pencils and markers.

I used a cute little polka-dot for the lining.

Finished and sent out my postcards for the 4X6er's,
but I can't show you picks until they receive them.
